chemotherapy

Between the coughing and the doctors appointments there is always the medicine. The antibiotics, the steroids, the pain medicine, the allergy medicine, the sleep medicine and the medicine that I don't even know what it is for medicine. Our bathroom is littered with pill bottles. The window ledge contains the medicine she needs throughout the day, while the blue tray is for the evening, and the matching green tray is for the morning. I watch her take them sometimes, and I wonder if it is really helping that much. Thats the problem with medicine. How bad would it be if you didn't take it? How much better would it have been if you did?

This is my moms last round of chemotherapy until her surgery this summer and it is taking its toll. She sits in the recliner with out the energy to move, sleeping on and off throughout the day because she can't sleep through night. It's painful to watch, to be so helpless. Busing myself with household chores, I've come to appreciate all that mothers really do. It's amazing, they work tirelessly for our wellbeing, and they love us no matter what. They do so much for us, and most of it goes un noticed.

This is a video that relates to this topic, but to tell you exactly what it is would spoil it. G rated, it is a heart warming video that is sure to make your day a teeny tiny bit brighter.  Click here for the video.
